Sharing my photo of me at Vasquez Rocks that I mentioned in a different post.

Looks much smaller in person. Didn’t get a chance to get upclose. I was cutting it close on time to make it to Universal Studios Hollywood for Fan Fest Nights (it was a 2 hour drive in stop and go traffic for me).

But um, yay! I got to see the Famous Rock (the formation featured throughout Trek). There is another formation called Witch’s Hat (for looking like a witch’s hat).

That’s nuts. I was just up in LA a couple of days ago to see They Might Be Giants. Stopped by the TOS cast signatures in the concrete in the walk of fame.

I’ll have to see if I can get that in next time, although it’s a bigger detour than simply jealously checking out the Micro Center in Tustin, which we have had nothing like back where I live since Fry’s Electronics shuttered (and frankly, Fry’s staff never seemed so nice).

I visited once and it is really funny how you drive through normal looking suburbs thinking “there is no way we are anywhere near Mintaka III” then suddenly there it is.

Not this. This is pretty far removed from urban. 40 miles doesn’t seem like much unless you drove 2 hours to get there.

40 miles from Universal Studios that is.

Just keep in mind our “SoCal” urban area is pretty fucking enormous, it sort of engulps the areas of natural beauty, connecting multiple cities, and we have too many cars. I love it, but visitors often have unrealistic expectations of how many places they can get to in a day.
