That’s the equivalent of rerouting from life support.

The holodeck is operated from a separate power supply. To then draw from it would be seen as a war crime.
That suddenly makes me wonder if the Prime Directive applies to simulated pre-warp civilizations 🤔 . Everyone wrapped up on the Moriarty Affair would end up in the brig!
